Review: Secret Avengers #4

Hulk? Maria really does have good persuasion skills.

Secret Avengers #4

Cover

Before reading issue #3, I found this cover quite confusing. This is because I thought the cover was showing one Iron Patriot armour moving in to attack the Hulk. I thought this as the various different armours are different brightnesses. However, now I realize that it is multiple Iron Patriot armours attacking Hulk at once. Once you have got your head around the rather ‘busy’ cover, it is actually very nice and portrays a really cool action sequence.

Score: 4/5

Story

I found the story in this issue to be highly enjoyable as it continues to explore the new High Council of A.I.M. story arc that has been going on in the last 3 issues. As the cover suggests, this issue sees the introduction of Hulk onto the team of black-ops Avengers which provides for a really cool action sequence along with some Bruce Banner science along the way. The end of the issue is extremely cool, to put it into one word: ‘scuba’.

Score: 5/5

Art

The artwork in this issue was amazing and very much to my liking. Everything looked very ‘clean’ and sleek and the artwork still looked great in various different scenarios (underwater, in the air, daytime, nighttime etc.).

Score: 5/5

Overall

This was certainly my favourite of the four comics that I recieved yesterday and it was probably my favourite issue of this series so far. As always with this series, I am highly anticipating the next issue as there are always multiple loose threads that will be explored more in upcoming issues.
